Dan vists the All Saints Centre

Local residents queued to sign a petition in Kingston Road, to save Wimbledon Post Offices from closure. Local business people, leaders of local residents groups, the postmaster and his family all attended a protest. As a result of their hard work, this vital community resource is to remain open. The campaign was jointly organised by Amin Jamaluddin , local shop keeper Saroj Morarji and Dan Lodge.

The simple fact is that local residents want to recycle more, but they are being blocked by Merton Council who refuse to provide wheelie bins free of charge.

 'Climate change is not about us all just doing our little bit, we each have to do a lot and we look for leadership in this from local authorities'  said Dan Lodge

Dan Lodge meets the director and team at local homeless and recycling charity The Vine Project. They provide recycled furniture to families in the local area who are homeless, have fled domestic violence or are moving into accomodation with little or nothing. The scheme won the national 'Community Recycling Project of the Year' for their environmental and social work.

September 2008

Merton council is stashing our cash- to bribe us with just before the next local elections. Dan Lodge is demanding a £100 rebate.

Flooding in South Wimbledon has brought disruption to local residents. Dan Lodge is offering help with claim forms and letters.

The NHS is 60 years old this month, Dan is asking local residents how they want their personal health service to work. Soon 50% of GP's will open at the weekends and evenings.

Dan Lodge is leading campaigns to invest in Morden Park Pool, which is being deliberately run down by Merton council.

Following protests from local people the Tory council did a u-turn on the closure of the All Saints adult disability centre.

Dan joins local people in their campaign  to save the All Saints centre from closure by our council.

 

January 2008

Protests intensify against Merton Council's proposed cuts to services. People with disabilities and children with Special Educational Needs will lose out if the Tory cuts are allowed to pass.

Dan led a street campaign and delivery of leaflets campaigning against proposed council cuts to environmental services.

 

November 2007

Dan visited the Vine centre and saw their fantastic facilities for reusing household furniture. 

 

 

  

Dan Lodge campaigned with centre users and their carers against the Conservative council's proposal to axe the All Saints day centre.  Hundreds of people signed petitions, leafletted and spoke to residents. We achieved our goal: to protect Merton's only day centre for physically disabled adults.  Thank you to all the people who have been involved in a campaign that has helped make Wimbledon a fairer place, and life better for people with physical challenges, and their carers.
